On August 20, Sarah Hey, a lay person and co-founder of Sanctuary delivered her presentation "Stand Firm: 13 Things Lay People Can Do Right Now" at St. John the Divine, Houston. The morning began with Holy Eucharist. The Rev. Larry Hall of St. John's delivered the sermon. (A link to the talk Sarah Hey gave at the Diocese of Mississippi can be found on our Home page under links of special interest.)

On Saturday, January 29. Dr. Robert Gagnon spoke at both St. Martin's in Houston and at St. Luke's on the Lake in Austin on The Bible, the Church and Homosexuality. Dr. Gagnon has proven himself to be the expert we espoused him to be. It was truly an exceptional talk. You may learn more about him and purchase his books on his web site at www.robgagnon.net/. Thanks to Dr. Gagnon, who was gracious enough to let us put a recording of his talk at St. Martin's on this web page.

On Sunday, October 10. We were fortunate to have Dr. Michael Howell, Ph.D. as our guest speaker. Dr. Howell spoke to the Lambeth Commission along with 3 other representatives of the Anglican Communion Network including Bishop Robert Duncan of Pittsburgh and moderator of the ACN. You may find the text of Mr. Howell's testimony here. This was followed by the service of Evensong, performed by the Sanctuary Choir of Good Shepherd. Thanks to The Church of the Good Shepherd, Tomball for hosting this event.

You may now listen to an audio version of Dr. Howell's talk from October 10.

On August 28, the Texas Coalition met at St. John the Divine in Houston to celebrate the Eucharist and to discuss the current situation. There were over 300 people in attendance from all over the state, not just from the Diocese of Texas. Fr. David Roseberry from Christ Church Plano delivered the sermon and following the service shared some of his insights and answered questions. You may listen to an audio version of his sermon or view his report to the Texas Coalition later that morning here.

On Ascension Day, May 20, we met at Good Shepherd for Eucharist and discussion regarding our options as a orthodox Christians. It was during this meeting that the Texas Coalition voted overwhelmingly to become a chapter of the AAC.

Our first gathering was at Holy Cross, Sugarland for a quiet day of prayer and fasting. We were blessed with the participation of both Bishop Cox, who led the retreat, and also Bishop Benitez who shared with us the importance of praying for our enemies and blessed our efforts with their prayers and support.. The quiet day ended with a celebration of the Eucharist followed by dinner and a time for questions and answers with Andrew Pearson of the AAC.

Please continue to check back for information on future gatherings. For more information or to be placed on the e-mail list, please e-mail us at:
